North Idaho Education Partnership

Making the connection between school, learning, and a future in the workforce

NIEP strengthens the link between education and business for middle and high-school students. We're capitalizing on viable mentor programs to build relationships between community members and students, using CIS (Career Information System) as a coaching tool. CIS equips users with career mapping, resume building tools, job shadowing, and internship opportunities.

Since January 2016 we have engaged over 120 leaders in North Idaho to define our collaborative approach, Instead of creating a new program, we are focusing on ways to leverage existing resources to effectively bridge the gap between adult readiness, lifelong learning, and career opportunities in North Idaho.

We are actively communicating with all 17 school districts in Region 1 to promote post-secondary planning through CIS, and inviting businesses to share their knowledge and expertise.

Our leadership partners include: United Way of North Idaho, North Idaho College, Lewis and Clark State College-Coeur d'Alene Center, Sandpoint High School, Coeur d'Alene Charter School, Priest River High School, Idaho Department of Labor, Wells Fargo Bank, Spokane Teachers Credit Union, and the North Idaho Consortium for Higher Education.
