Chris Bjurstrom is tentatively celebrating some wins as owner of ABCD Daycare.

“For the first time since COVID-19 started, we’re at full staff and full capacity,” Bjurstrom said. “But I’m afraid that in the next breath someone may quit and go somewhere else.”

It’s been a series of challenges for her and other local child care centers.

A pertinent piece of the puzzle, that certainly does not get the deserved attention, is the local people giving their time, treasure and talent, day in and day out, to support their community and help those in need.

I have an eight year old son. From the time he was about three months old I have relied on some sort of outside care—home based small group care, center based large group, family members, half day preschool and kindergarten, and now public school.
