5K | 10K | HALF MARATHON | TOT TROT

Hundreds of community members will gather on Saturday, April 25, for United Way of North Idaho (UWNI)’s annual Spring Dash, a powerful show of local support for North Idaho’s ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) population.

The event features a 5K, 10K, half marathon, and Tot Trot for children ages 12 and younger. All races begin and end at McEuen Park, offering participants scenic views of Lake Coeur d’Alene.

This year, UWNI has partnered with Negative Split, which is generously covering the cost of the first 100 Tot Trot entries for children in ALICE families receiving childcare scholarships. Returning sponsors include Kootenai Health, Idaho Central Credit Union (ICCU), and The Coeur d’Alene Press

REGISTRATION

Registration remains open for all races. Entry fees are $85 for the half marathon, $65 for the 10K, $45 for the 5K, and $20 for the Tot Trot. Donations to United Way of North Idaho will also be accepted on race day. Join us as we join forces for those in need — right here in our community.

HISTORY

Since 1982, the Spring Dash has served as a beloved kickoff to running season in the Inland Northwest. The 10K race also remains a second-seed qualifier for Bloomsday. Runners of all experience levels — from competitive athletes to casual participants — are encouraged to take part in the day’s festivities.

SPONSORSHIP

Sponsorship truly makes this community favorite event possible. To become a sponsor and enjoy prominent recognition, please email Resource Manager Jen Reynolds at jen@uwnorthidaho.org, or contact any member of the team.

COURSE

All races begin and end at McEuen Park Pavilion. All out and back courses are relatively flat, paved surfaces and enjoy scenic views of Lake Coeur d'Alene. The 5K, 10K and Half Marathon courses are USATF certified. Click course maps here for a more detailed look at all courses.

WHY WE DO IT

Sponsorships and donations directly benefit North Idaho’s ALICE population (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed). Funds raised become the community-sponsored bridge that lifts local ALICE families up and over hardship, and toward the financial stability and autonomy worth reaching on the other side.

Yes, we have para athlete divisions in the 5K, 10K and half marathon. These are separated into assisted and un-assisted categories based upon the available responses to the "Are you a para athlete?" question during registration. If someone is assisting you in some way with forward movement they will register in the run/walk division and you will register in the para athlete assisted category; otherwise, you will answer unassisted.

Although we love our furry companions, unfortunately pets are asked to refrain from racing for the safety of our racers and spectators.
