Day of Action (previously Day of Caring) brings together nonprofits, businesses, and community organizations for hands-on service projects that make a real impact across North Idaho.
This year, there are even more opportunities to give back with two Days of Action on May 12 and September 24.
All volunteer opportunities and project listings are managed through Volunteer North Idaho (VNI). Nonprofits are encouraged to submit projects now — submissions are open, and projects will be posted on VNI as they are reviewed and approved by UWNI staff and board members.
Businesses and community groups can explore available opportunities on VNI and sign up to volunteer once projects are live.

Volunteer Teams
If your organization is interested in incorporating volunteerism in its workplace culture, United Way of North Idaho's Day of Action is a great place to start.
Project Proposal submissions are OPEN for 2026 Day of Action dates.
Project proposals are submitted through Volunteer North Idaho. Projects will need to provide a copy of their up-to-date liability insurance; these will be submitted via email to UWNI staff member Jen Reynolds, Jen@uwnorthidaho.org.
