Dolly Parton's Imagination Library
Dolly Parton's Imagination Library is a free early literacy program that inspires a love of reading by mailing high-quality, age-appropriate books to children from birth to age 5. Each enrolled child receives one carefully selected book every month, delivered directly to their home at no cost to their family.
Founded by Dolly Parton in 1995 in honor of her father, who was unable to read or write, the program has grown into one of the world's leading early childhood literacy initiatives. Today, it reaches children across the United States and several other countries through partnerships with local organizations that help make the program possible.
Research shows that children who are regularly read to develop stronger language, literacy, and school readiness skills. By putting books into the hands of young children and encouraging families to read together, the Imagination Library helps build a foundation for lifelong learning and success.
