COEUR d’ALENE — United Way of North Idaho’s annual Spring Dash is scheduled April 25.
“This longtime favorite community event boasts blooming trees, lakefront views and 1,200 pairs of laced-up sneakers launching into spring,” said UWNI Executive Director Erica Wrublik. “What’s more, sponsorships and donations fill the community chest, enabling UWNI to continue coming alongside friends and neighbors when they need it most.”
The event features a 5K, 10K, half marathon and Tot Trot for children ages 12 and younger. All races begin and end at McEuen Park and treat participants to scenic views of Lake Coeur d’Alene.
This year, UWNI has partnered with Negative Split, which is covering the cost of the first 100 Tot Trot entries for children in ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) families receiving childcare scholarships.
Returning sponsors include Kootenai Health, The Coeur d’Alene Press and Idaho Central Credit Union.
Since 1982, the Spring Dash has served as a kickoff to running season in the Inland Northwest. The 10K race also remains a second-seed qualifier for Bloomsday.
Registration remains open for all races. Entry fees are $85 for the half marathon, $65 for the 10K, $45 for the 5K and $20 for the Tot Trot.
"Join us as we join forces for those in need — right here in our community," a press release said.
