What is a Born Learning Trail?
Born Learning Trails are interactive walking paths designed to turn an ordinary trip to the park into a fun, educational experience. Along the trail, colorful signs encourage parents, caregivers, and children to talk, play, count, move, and explore together through simple, age-appropriate activities that build language, literacy, motor, and social-emotional skills.
The trails are based on the idea that parents are a child's first teacher and that everyday moments—like a walk through the park—can become meaningful learning opportunities. Best of all, Born Learning Trails are free, accessible, and designed for children from birth through age 5 and the adults who care for them.
