Sara is responsible for developing and managing programs that support early learning, youth success, and educational equity — partnering with schools and community organizations, coordinating initiatives, and ensuring programs effectively improve outcomes for children and families.
Sara graduated locally from Lakeland High School and then from North Idaho College with an Associate’s degree in Child Development. After 15 years of teaching preschool at the NIC Children’s Center and then the NIC Head Start program, she returned to school at the University of Idaho. In the fall of 2023, Sara joined the UWNI team as an Early Learning Intern and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Child Development. She was honored to continue working with the UWNI as the READY! For Kindergarten Coordinator. Throughout the years, Sara has volunteered with local non-profits, schools, community committees, and organizations supporting children and families in our community.
Growing up in Rathdrum, Sara has always enjoyed the natural beauty and outdoor experiences North Idaho has to offer. You can often find her gardening, biking, crafting, or hanging out with her family. She has been married to her husband for 25 years and together they have 2 adult children.
