HEALTH COMMUNITY

Our partnerships aim to improve health and wellness for all

United Way of North Idaho is continuously partnering with local groups to expand access to nutritious food and quality health care, dental care, mental health, and well-being resources, especially for our local ALICE population.

ALICE is an acronym for Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed, and represents the growing number of families who are unable to afford healthcare and other basic needs.

Start Smiling

Start Smiling Idaho is an exciting new pilot program in partnership with Delta Dental, Idaho AEYC, and United Way's North Idaho Early Learning Collaborative, and aims to support early dental health by providing parents and caregivers with education and resources to remove barriers to dental care.

  • Provides financial assistance to cover the cost of a child's first visit for ages 0-5 if they are uninsured, underinsured, or facing financial barriers preventing access to dental care.

  • Supplies Oral Health Kits and early oral health training for parents and caregivers through local community events.
