The work of nonprofit organizations relies heavily on volunteerism to provide the services needed to work toward their mission. In North Idaho, many caring individuals are willing to share their time and talents to improve lives in our community. We are excited to help recognize these individuals who volunteer community-wide in service to others.
We will recognize volunteers who make a significant contribution to our area through active community support and service. A panel comprising representatives from the community will make a selection and announce the winner at the 2024 United Way of North Idaho Awards Luncheon on March 21, 2024.
Eligibility
Nominees must be affiliated with current 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations or service groups.
Criteria
The selection panel will consider:
• the impact and benefit to the local community
• innovative approaches to volunteers and volunteering
• consistency and growth of volunteering activities
• level of community participation
Allocation of awards will be based on the information provided by the nominator. It is therefore important to provide sufficient, accurate information to enable the panel to make an informed decision. We prefer nominations that are well-coordinated and communicated between nominee and nominator, without the element of surprise, as these are typically of the highest quality.
Nominations are due March 1, 2024, after which we will be in touch directly with the nominees.
