To recognize nonprofit professionals who make a significant contribution to their community, United Way of North Idaho established the Nonprofit Professional of the Year Award. While one award cannot show the gratitude deserved by the many hard-working nonprofit professionals, we seek to acknowledge and promote the important work being done by those choosing a mission-driven career and develop a tradition of recognition. Individuals will be selected based on active community support and service and by demonstrating excellence, leadership, fiduciary responsibility, management practices, creativity, collaboration, and impact. A panel of community representatives will make a selection and announce the winner at the 2024 United Way of North Idaho Impact Awards Luncheon on March 21, 2024.
Eligibility
Nominees must be employed by current 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations.
Criteria
The selection panel will consider:
• the impact and benefit to the local community
• innovative approaches to addressing community issues
• maintenance and growth of nonprofit activities
• demonstrated leadership and collaboration
• previous recognition and awards received
The selection of the award recipient is based on the information provided by the nominator. It is therefore important to provide sufficient, accurate information to enable the panel to make an informed decision. We prefer nominations that are well-coordinated and communicated between nominee and nominator, without the element of surprise, as these are typically of the highest quality.
Nominations must be received by March 1, 2024, and we will be in touch directly with the nominee after that.
